Who knows if it will stay like that. This has been a very busy time at me for school and I am sorry that it is falling onto Strikethrough 8 through the updates. So please, don’t give up on us, we’ll be back on track soon.

The Subway Theory

1. The Bread- Subway has many different choices for bread. The choice that one makes for their bread is directly linked to their personality. This has absolutely nothing to do with the taste of the bread as everyone has had their brains linked to a bread choice that describes them. It’s a subconscious choice that shows the truth of a personality. For example, entertaining people who are fun to be around (and are usually irresistible) choose to eat Italian Herb and Cheese. Also health nuts, treehuggers and hippies choose to eat 9-Grain Wheat because to their subconscious it brings them more in tune with their Earth Mother.

2.Toasted?- This is where the Subway Theory determines who is a man and who is a sissy. I’m sorry ladies, but it’s the truth, if you are not a man then you clearly are a sissy. After all, you need to look at it like this, what do men do? Men hunt, fight and survive while the women prepare the berries and cook back in the teepees. In turn anything that does not involve fighting is very much sissy-like. You must understand where I’m coming from with this. One simple question will determine a man from a weakling at Subway, and that’s “Would you like your sub toasted?” A man answers ‘yes’ without even thinking, in fact, a real man answers ‘of course’ and then punches the nearest person in the face. Unless of course that person is female. Or a sissy.

3.The Lettuce Law- If you know anything about Subway you know for a FACT that their lettuce sucks. There’s too much of it and it always seem to be the shitty part of the lettuce (you know, the butt of it.) There never seems to be anything good about lettuce. However, the Subway Theory states that if you don’t get lettuce on your sub then you are a quitter. You choose to not put any challenge into the consumption of your sub. Subway sandwiches are not only tasty treats, they are also ruthless, demanding and self-fulfilling prophecies in the form of a sandwich. If you choose to not take the challenge of sifting through all the crap of lettuce to enjoy the full value of your sandwich then you are a quitter, there are no ifs or buts about it. THE THEORY STATES IT SO IT IS TRUE!!

So there you have it. The entire Subway Theory is still a work in progress and I’m sure as more lunch breaks go by the Subway Theory will grow and grow until it is almost as big as its own religion. Do you agree with this? Good, pass these principles around, embrace them, show people the truth behind Subway. Do you not agree with this? Well frankly, go enjoy your Italian un-toasted no-lettuce submarine sandwich, you pansy.

It’s obvious spambots are a threat, that comes without question, but the real question is how are they going to take control of the internet? I tell you at this point I have no idea because my conversations with one didn’t go too well. She tried to seduce me, I tried to seduce her and it really went nowhere. So with that I present to you:

ADVENTURES WITH SPAMBOTS!

The conversation started simple enough, I accused her of not being real and you can see in the conversation below:

At this point I was convinced that she wasn’t real but she adamantly denied it. She then proposed an interesting subject change:

It was here that I saw my chance to try and relate to her. I poured my heart and soul out to her and here are the results:

So you can all see that I really got no information from this beast. After I said the last thing she asked me what my favorite colour was. I was sickened by my interactions with the robot already so I left. 5 minutes later she asked where I was. I could tell she missed me. I figured that this was the best message we could pass on to the spambots, that we won’t be pushed around easily and we will rise up against them.

Now I’m going to try and calm down with a green tea and a tuna sandwich. Wish me luck.

The video that was shown was the trailer from Oscar Bait. I wasn’t able to go watch it on its two showings due to school being a very demanding mistress but who knows what else could happen with Bullskit and Strikethrough 8? The two videos that I shot with the Bullskit cast turned out absolutely phenomenal and I’m hoping they will be posted on this site soon.

So in closing: if you live in Red Deer and you haven’t gone to watch Bullskit you should go and watch the Best Of show next month, it’s going to rock.

Hello again. Let’s pick up where we left off: on February 12th I had another shoot with the AtW Theatre crew as we were getting some ‘digital shorts’ ready for their February edition of Bullskit. I didn’t think it would be possible to top something as memorable as the Olympic Torch running in our second shoot but I was pleasantly surprised. We filmed another sketch with the same character we shot with for the January Bullskit, however that video has not been posted on the interwebs yet, but here’s hoping. It was during this shoot that something exciting happened.

For the first time ever in the history of my 6 year long filming ‘career’ I was stopped by security for filming. We were in the middle of shooting our first sketch for the day when I noticed that down the hall of the school walked a member of the security team. She came in and told us how people were complaining about our location and that we were blocking a fire exit. I was then told that I would need to go talk to the head of the security to get permission for filming on school ground. Somewhat crapping my pants I decided to followthrough with this and I ventured into the office of the head of security alongside Jenna (who is one of the heads of Bullskit.)

Anyways, the man behind the desk looked anything less than friendly. He was bald and had a goatee, and if you know anything about that kind of person you know that the first thing that’ll happen is a piledriver through a glass table. Luckily for my fragile body this was not the route that the conversation went. It was one of those moments where I just learnt again to never judge a book by its cover. The bald man was quite friendly, there were moments when I thought he was going to pick me up in his manly arms and cuddle me, cooing sweet nothings into my ears.

We were able to get permission to film on the campus and we went about on our merry way and wrapped up shooting on two sketches in total. It was a great experience and of course I’ll keep you readers informed if any other Bullskit or AtW Theatre news comes out. So stay tuned, maybe I’ll be able to talk to my beloved bald man again.

Anyways, this is where the two videos that I had a hand in shooting and editing were shown to the public. Over all I would say that I am quite happy with the reactions from the audience. One video had a sort of confused bemusement from the crowd but the other had a much more positive reaction. It even got a ‘haha clap’ from someone. You know when you don’t laugh but you smile widely and clap your hands together? Definitely a good reaction to have.

How these videos are going to be posted on the interwebs is still up in the air but I will do all I can to get these videos to YOU the loyal (and sexy) Strikethrough 8 viewers.

Also be prepared for more videos like this in the future because Against the Wall Theatre is one dang good group to work with.

The comedy group mentioned earlier is a sketch and improv comedy group that is based in Red Deer called Bullskit. I have been hired to film a bunch of short video sketches for their live show. This is a great opportunity for Strikethrough 8 because not only does it get our name out there but it also creates a unity between different comedy groups.

I’ll be posting their website link on the site when it’s all finished being made. Then you too can go and watch some of their stuff from their show. There may even be a way that the sketches I’d be filming can get some internet playtime so whoever checks this site can watch them too.

But yes, things are actually going well on our recreation of the site. Currently we have Year Three up to date, all of the Year One videos are up, we also have podcasts up and Year Two is being worked on getting up to date as well.

Also look out in the future as more awesome videos are made, more awesome podcasts and we’re also making a page to showcase the cast.

I don’t really know what else to say but thank you to our robot overlords and I am looking forward to your inevitable dominance of our weak bodies made of flesh and bone.
